WOW it’s been some time since I last wrote a post. Our days have been busy. There hasn’t been much time to sit in front of the computer and wreck my brain on a post. Perhaps it’s the lack of something interesting to write about too. I always tend to just write about what we are doing in our lives. So once again, here’s a post about, what we’ve been up to!
Lets start at the top of the fam…me. Outside of being a mom I have been stealing every moment possible to pick up my needles and knit. My purse is actually all put together, minus sewing the liner. I’ve set it aside as Andrew asked me to make him a funky cap.
Imagine how estatic I was when my 17 year old has ASKED me to knit him something. He started withdrawing from the “mom made me this cap” phase around junior high. I knew it just wasn’t cool enough to wear a cap your mother made, so I broke down and bought him some. I figured there would be a time he would once again display my work, but never imagined it would be so soon.
I’m trying to make it perfect. He would like it lined with fur as well. That’s how the Hollister and American Eagle ones are. MIne…mine will be better as it will be knitted with love.
I finally made the room switch with Andrew and Chad. PooWee and I are now in Andrew’s old room. The room just fits us. It’s nice and cozy. However, I am continually harrassing Andrew to get his bikini girl poster off MY walls. Along with the Transformer, the runner’s, and music posters. I really do want the bikini girl down though, boobs in my face is just something I’m not into.
I bought a dishwasher! LOVE IT!!! LOVE IT!!! LOVE IT!!!!! I dance around the house sing, “I’m doing the dishes…I’m doing the dishes! Why didn’t I buy one sooner?
Andrew-I’m sure he’s the typical Senior. Itching to get out of high school and out into the real world.
His grades are great. However, we had some issues in Calculous. His first progress report had five As, 1 B and a F. Yep, CALCULIOUS was the enemy. After he admitted to hating the class and not doing assignments because he dreaded them, he decided to tackle it. He got the grade up to a C for the repot card and is aiming for a B.
He’s got a love…Brooke. Brooke is a sweet, fun girl. She attends a different school and is a junior. Andrew has managed to get the likings of both her mother and father too. I have to say, he does know how to treat the ladies.
We were talking about Christmas this morning as he got ready for school. He wants to make Brooke a picture frame that will hold a variety of pictures. Brooke loves taking pictures, so this should fit her well. Plus, he’ll be making it himself. What a sweet guy.
Elijah-Oh man, where do I begin. The E-man definately keeps me busy. He probably takes more of my time then the Poo-man.
I’ve decided to send Elijah back to councelling. SSHHH don’t tell him, he doesn’t know yet. He’ll be heading back to MB, whom he saw when his father comitted all those horrible acts on him almost six years ago.
It’s been on my mind to send him for probably over a year already. I’m not sure why I did ever just do it. Perhaps it was the feeling that I failed and couldn’t help him on my own.
Elijah still lives in fear that he will be killed. (His father told him people where coming to kill him.) I call him my tail, as he is always right by me. He locks the door even if I run to the car to get something. It’s such a habit that everytime he passes it he checks to make sure it’s locked.
I have managed to get him out of my bed, but he is still on a mattress on my bedroom floor. He continues to wake up every night, sometimes as much as four to five times. Any attempt to get him into his own room have failed. He wakes up even more and comes into my room.
He’s looking for attention big time at school. Sometimes not always making the best choices. His teacher and I believe it has to do with abandonment issues. With Eli’s father not choosing to take parenting classes and having supervised visitations, he has chossen to not be apart of his son’s life.
Then there’s another male figure that Eli was pretty close too. This man has choosen to do nothing but yell at Eli for everything PooWee does wrong. He no longer takes Eli fishing, for a drive or just hang with him. Instead he plays with PooWee and Eli hides in a room. Oh I blew up a few weeks ago. It’s just so sad to see what has happened here. Eli’s teacher sees this situation as having some abandonment issues for Eli too.
His teacher really rocks this year. She loves Elijah and is helping me 100% with him. He did great last week. He starting to tell the “bad” influences that he needs to do his work, or won’t do something that may get him into trouble. We see him having tons of friends, but he is striving to get EVERYBODY to like him, no matter what the costs.
He’s upset because we had to keep him out of wrestling due to his back. He wants to be in gymnastics as well, but we just can’t risk his back at this time. We are trying to avoid surgery.
I believe he has plans on joining basketball, which should be fine. I’m sure it will be a huge challenge with his vision, but hey, he can do it.
He is catching on to Braille quite well. His VI teacher is very impressed with his progress. They will be done with the alphabet by next week. His teacher calls him a sponge…he just sucks the information in. She can’t believe how well he is doing for being a primarily print reader. It truly is amazing to see/hear him read it. His fingers are “seeing” for him. He thinks it’s great because he can read in the dark. He has enjoyed learning Braille very much. The next step is learning what is basically shorthand.
His Vi teacher will also be starting keyboarding skills with him. She said her vision students are always the fastest typers, so ELi is excited about that as well. He wants to be better than Andrew.
PooWee-growing like a weed. He’s totally addictted to the computer. He thinks he’s the only on that should be on it. Whenever he sees someone using it, he’ll immediately go and pry his way in. He sure can throw a tantrum when he doesn’t get it. If I let him, he’d probably spend all day on it.
It’s quite amazing how well he manuvers the mouse. He’s learnt to left click. He was always right clicking so I put a little smile face on the left click and now he does well. He likes the painting games, puzzles and sing along sites.
Besides the computer he’s into puzzles and books. Can’t get enough of them as well. He’s got the bottom shelf on the bookshelf and you can bet his books are always on the floor. Five minutes after I pick them up he’s got them on the floor again checking them all out.
Chad-He’s doin well. Working and going to school.
He’s a great father to Ella. I give him alot of credit. Ella’s mother and him are still good friends which is so nice. They focus on Ella and it shows. I’m very impressed with these two young parents.
Well, that’s about it. Now I must get the house picked up. And PooWee has to paint a picture for his daddy for Christmas! FUN!!!
Till next time…
